Buying & Procurement
What does a typical RFID project cost?
Mid-size deployments (one site, 5,000–50,000 tagged SKUs) typically run US$30K–150K covering hardware, Odoo integration and commissioning; annual maintenance is typically 10–15% of the initial investment. The 2-week POC fee is fully credited against the full project. Every quote is itemized — no bundled pricing.
How is the project phased from PO to go-live?
Standard timeline is 4–12 weeks: weeks 1–2 site survey and RF planning, 3–6 hardware installation, 7–10 Odoo integration and data migration, 11–12 training and hypercare go-live; smaller sites compress further. Milestone dates are locked in the statement of work (SOW).
Can we speak with existing customers before signing?
Yes. All cases published on this site are authorized for named disclosure; after a short qualification call we arrange reference calls with customers in your industry and region (NDA available on request).
What exactly does your support include?
Every ticket is answered within 24 hours; enterprise customers get priority 24/7 technical support, firmware updates and Edge Middleware SDK documentation. SLA terms with response targets are attached to every quote.
Are your certifications verifiable?
Yes. ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certificate numbers with registry lookups are provided on request; RAIN RFID Alliance and GS1 memberships are verifiable in public directories.
What if the pilot doesn't meet expectations?
The POC runs 2 weeks with acceptance criteria (read rate, accuracy, throughput) defined and measured in writing upfront; the POC fee is credited against the full project; if criteria are not met, you keep the pilot hardware and the full measurement report — no obligation to proceed.
Which Odoo versions and deployment models do you support?
Odoo V15–V20, Community and Enterprise editions, on-premise and Odoo.sh; integration runs via LLRP middleware and OCA modules without touching your existing workflows.
What is the warranty and spare-parts policy?
Hardware carries a 24-month manufacturer warranty with free replacement and an advance spares program; firmware updates and 24/7 technical support are included.
RFID Basics
What is RFID?
RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) uses radio waves to identify and track tags attached to objects. UHF RFID operates at 860-960 MHz.
What is the difference between RFID and barcode?
RFID doesn't require line-of-sight, reads multiple tags simultaneously, and stores more data per tag.
What is UHF RFID?
UHF (Ultra-High Frequency) RFID operates at 860-960 MHz, offering read ranges up to 12 meters and is ideal for supply chain and inventory management.
What is RAIN RFID?
RAIN RFID is a global alliance promoting UHF RFID standardization, combining UHF RFID with the GS1 EPC standard.
Implementation
How long does RFID deployment take?
Typical deployments take 4-12 weeks depending on scale and complexity.
What hardware do I need for RFID?
You need RFID readers, antennas, tags, and optionally handhelds and printers.
Can RFID work in metal environments?
Yes, anti-metal RFID tags are designed for use on metal surfaces.
Odoo Integration
How does RFID integrate with Odoo?
Via LLRP protocol and XML-RPC/JSON-RPC middleware for real-time inventory synchronization.
Which Odoo modules support RFID?
Inventory, Asset Management, Manufacturing, and Retail modules all support RFID integration.
Can I customize the RFID-Odoo integration?
Yes, SpidersRFID offers full customization services including custom middleware and dashboard development.
